Some stats that prove Jake throws across the middle and ARod uses tight ends:
All this whining about our TEs not being involved or Jake not throwing across the middle is so stupid and demonstrably wrong. These are the type of lame complaints that dumb fans latch onto in an effort to just complain. They never actually look into the matter, but instead hear someone say and then they run with it as if it's fact.

We have 1 tight end that is 3rd on the team in TD receptions (Ta'ase with 3). We have another tight end that is 4th on the team in total receptions (Hill). We have another tight end that is tied with Jojo Philips for 6th in receptions (Swanson). That's 3 different tight ends that are being involved. Also, if one of them were better all around, they would be involved more. Why in the world should we throw it to a tight end when we have guys like Lassiter and Roberts? If Ryner gets better at blocking and understanding the play book, he'll be an every down tight end and would likely be our #3-4 target game in and game out. So until they are open more and present a better option to Jake than Lassiter or Roberts (who are both really good), then it's not a matter of ignoring tight ends. ARod is scheming for them to get open. He is utilizing them. Just because we don't go super tight end heavy like Utah did with Kuithe doesn't mean we don't use them. Utah has had a bare bones wide receiver room lately, so their tight ends have been the best receiving option.

As for the whole "ARod doesn't utilize the middle of the field" or "Jake doesn't throw across the middle", that's just hogwash. Of Jake's 262 passing attempts this year, 118 have been in the middle of the field past the line of scrimmage. Of his 18 touchdowns, 9 have been to a receiver across the middle of the field. Of his 2,091 passing yards, 1,217 have been across the middle. When throwing between the hashes, Jake has a completion percentage of 68%. His absolute most productive and effective area on the field is actually between the hashes from 10-20 yards down field where he has an NFL passer rating of 125.3.

We have the second highest scoring offense in the Big12 this year, are currently 9-0, and are sitting atop a P4 conference (despite being predicted to be last in the Big12), and yet fans are still finding things to complain about? Wow.
