fracture of the 2nd metatarsal base(typeA)..GR II you get more of the joint involved with further dislocation(type B1 or 2). Gr III and IV (Type C1, C2) are a further dislocation of the joint with multiple metatarsal fractures involving the medial and lateral columns of the foot...to say someone couldn't do more damage would indicate he has a gr IV sprain (type C2) and no way can any one function on that...I am repairing a Gr II (Type B1)fracture tomorrow and this pt couldn't walk on foot from time of injury...fell off a ladder!!
