We've had more inflation and crap to deal with than just about any generation. I purchased the top of the line truck with every option for $7200 in 1977 the same truck now is 85-90K. Did wages keep up? NO. HADES NO. We are constantly told that Social Security is broke and the nearly750K I paid into it will go down the drain. I was in the workforce for 61 years and had in that whole time 1 week of unemployment. I never got welfare or food stamps ever. I pray that we get rid of the Social security tax. We were already taxed on that money once. The taxes in this state are asinine. The Alpine school district had a nearly 20% tax increase last year and 15 plus percent this year. Where the hades did I get a raise to make up that difference? (I did not get raise!)

The taxes and insurance are nearly a thousand dollars a month more than when we moved in 10 years ago. Yeah retired life is nothing like what my parents had. You can't save enough money to stay even. The pension I get was swallowed up by inflation. You can blame Biden-Harris and the dems for the crap we have suffered. When I went to look at a mortage for my first home about 1979 or 80 rates were 21% (Thanks Carter). We got a special rate as first time home buyers of 10.5%.
