twice as many voters as the big 12. the media also pushes the SEC far more than the big 12 cause they have more fans and make the media a lot more money.
number 2, on sagarin i’ve looked at the SOS for the SEC over the last 10 years, and someone on reddit did an average from 98-17. OU and texas, while in the big 12, both had an average schedule that would rank 4th in the SEC over the last 10 years. I don’t remember texas’ but OUs ranks 4th in the SEC from 98-17 as well. and in 2023, texas’ schedule would rank 1st, and OUs 4th in the SEC.
number 3, idk this number for other schools, but since 2000, OU has played 6 or more ranked teams 8 times. and then played 5 ranked teams 11 times. and less than 5 only a handful of times including a shortened COVID season. and that’s with a massive ranking bias towards the SEC in the 2010s and 2020s.
the SEC has plenty of good teams, but also a lot of bad teams. they also play less P4 games, and an extra G5 game, and more home games. plus they schedule an FCS or bottom feeder G5 school in november every year. they make the schedule as easy as possible.
