which side was cheering until I looked down and saw all the BYU team jumping up and down.
Hugged three random BYU fans in front of me. Two or three Ute fans around me started dropping F-bombs.
Got screamed at a few times leaving the stadium but 98% of the Ute fans up to that point were chill and were reasonable.
Before the game I had a girl yell at me "I hate mormons".
Then another guy asked me as I was going to my seat inside the stadium "Why don't you go by a Ute hat over there where they are selling merch". I replied "Is it 50% off since they have lost 4 straight"? Another Ute fan by him laughed at my clever comeback.
Sitting behind me the whole game were fans constantly screaming "Face Mask" on almost every play.
Another fan was getting upset in the 2nd Half when the Utes went into prevent mode and couldn't move the ball.
I pointed out to the nice Ute fan next to me that the Kirtland Temple design in the South End zone was unique. He said, I can't unsee that now...
A drunk sorority girl screamed at me and my son in law that we would not have any female companionship tonight in a very coarse way. A few others told us we were not welcome in their stadium.
All the drinking and partying at the Ute tailgate was also a cultural experience. Definitely a different vibe from BYU and the pregame - game - post game experience.
