and said that the big 12 really needed an undefeated team, so they decided to give BYU the ball back as a kind of mulligan. They felt like the previous 4 plays weren’t indicative of who BYU is and encouraged them to try it over again and just play loose and, as the ref said, “remember who you are, what you stand for, and who you represent.” Utah was furious, but it made sense and felt like the right thing to do.
