BYU students are driven like no other. There’s 30k of them. We’re all pretty similar so the only way to kind of stand out are through objective measures like grades etc. most are extremely focused and/or not distracted with the party life. And whether people admit it or not many are trying to stand out/set themselves apart in dating scene by dangling their future wealth prospects.
I went to Columbia as well. There’s 1/5 the amount of students. Most are already set up in life. Most were enjoying the stereotypical college life. Many knew their grad school hookups and being at a brand school would take care of them.
Had brothers at Harvard, Stanford, Notre dame, etc and all felt the same. No one grinded super hard in undergrad
