As far as KenPom rankings go, it really isn't a matter of preference or opinion.
It is all based on data/statistical models.
In KenPoms original rankings for this year, the Big12 was definitely stronger at the top, with half of the top 10 teams in the rankings. But the bottom half of the Big12 was ranked worse than the bottom half of the SEC.
