Quoting "Acceptance rate"... when BYU not only has a small pool of applicants...
... but the school/church purposefully make it a very burdensome application process so that they simultaneously 1) get the kids applying that REALLY want to be there and 2) have to turn down fewer students/families where they may get a bad taste in their mouths about BYU and the church.
