Teams will have similar roster changes each year, so the best teams in the league may be hidden behind records that look mediocre for the first half of the season.
This then translates to March by them earning lower seeds in the NCAA Tournament. But by that time those same lower seeded teams will have figured things out a could very well be legitimately better than many of the higher seeds.
So what I’m saying is that seeding number is going to mean less going forward. There will be lots of upsets. There always have been, but the Final Four used to very predictably always have at least one 1 seed team. That’s not a given now. There will be a lot more 6,7,8 and 9 seeds progressing that far going forward. And in truth, they won’t even be “Cinderella” runs. They will legitimately be that good.
