Thrill All-American
A friend of mine worked at a jewelry store at Crossroads Mall in the mid 90's.
We saw her there once with a small paper shopping bag. She was on her way to the post office inside the ZCMI center to send off about $2M in jewels. They were boxed up in a small box about the size of a box of checks.

No security, no tracking number, etc. Apparently it was the safest way to do it at the time to not flag attention to the contents. I spent many days contemplating life as a jewel thief because it would have been fairly easy to swipe and disappear into the street.
