I've been going down the boot rabbit hole for years. It started with hunting and hiking boots and has spread out from there.
The last few years I've been way into (my ADHD made sure of it) the heritage and casual styles and craftsmanship. Everything from hand lasted boots to the kinds of leathers and tanneries they use to the methods involved to attach soles. (shout out to rose anvil and his YouTube channel. he cuts boots in half and basically grades them that way).
Anyway, I've got boots from most of the main players in the space. The best value, by far, and some of the best boots are actually hand made in China. They do an awesome job and make boots that cost half as much as similar American boots. Granted, that's not cheap - but it's a much better value.
Grant Stone are the boots. Great company with a lot of options. They usually have sales and other things. Right now there's a pair of sweet moc kangaroo leather boots on sale that I happen to own, and they are terrific. They also make shoes in a few styles.
So, if you're in the market, check them out.
