in Olympic sports? (Minus 🏀)

How much national recognition that is broadly known because BYU is a national contender in Cross Country?

Don’t read this as a post to get rid of it. I want to know why the school or any school should invest in Olympic Sports. When there’s a kid who attends BYU and that kid wins a Gold medal in the Olympics does that result in massive positive media for BYU? I know CB is going to latch on to everyone that has success beyond BYU but does that apply to those beyond the inner circle?

I have other thoughts on this I’d be interested in. Like is there other competition that BYU could invest in that would give greater returns.


None of this matters because I’m sure the B12 requires these programs and I know it’s not realistic to see any of these ending.
