You may say: they announced that his season was over. Have you ever heard of *lying*? Can't you just lie to the press? Can't you give the press information that can change based on new developments (unexpected healing, unexpectedly bad backups, a newly reduced season goal, unexpectedly low interest in a post-redshirt 8th season)?

You may say: he has already done some official, irreversible paperwork related to his medical redshirt or something and is therefore legally unable to play. I say: Has he? I don't know what that would entail. Can't he do this at the end of the season? Isn't he still on the roster right now?

You may say: there is some immutable medical principle that makes it physically impossible for him to take the field again. I say that a description as vague as "lower leg injury" is capacious enough to encompass some injury from which he can recover by Nov 9.

Sadly, I believe he will play and likely hurt himself again.
