Whenever I administer time constrained exams I have soooo many requests from
students for time accomodations (the requests all pass through the disability resource center, DRC).

All I need to do to reduce the DRC accommodation requests in my class is spend time the first day of class talking about how my exams are not time constrained.

There was one semester during covid when I had to do open book open note exams, and I decided to make them time constrained, and one of my worst students (i.e., comes into office and knows nothing) got an A- on my exam, because she got a big time accommodation and had way more time than the other students to learn the material during the exam. I have never done open book, open note, time constrained exams since then, as I think having tons of time and just your brain is a more fair approach to everyone.
