It will be interesting to see if all the deferred money will come back to hurt them in future years when Ohtani is no longer playing yet they are still paying him. I would imagine that won't be the case and that they actually just have essentially a blank check and they will just keep on going full steam ahead. This will just be the new version of Bobby Bonilla on steroids.
