Sure you made your points the odds aren't good, but the odds of getting better with that result in the near future are much better doing that than the Jazz drafting #9 again. That's the horrible outcome here.

I'm actually in the camp of the Jazz getting a high pick and then trading it combined with a bunch of their other picks for a superstar from a team ready to blow things up. The trade value of a top 3 pick is enormous.

Also, this year's draft is stacked. There will be 5-6 guys all highly regarded. It's the most top heavy draft we have seen in a while according to the experts.

The odds the Jazz also get a top 4 pick with having the worst record are higher than them having the 5th pick.
