I think the stars may be aligning to make this happen. Specifically, I'd like to see a game where it's not even necessary to throw the ball. In 1996, we ran the ball 63 times for 376 yards and threw it only 12 times.
In BYU's Big XII match-ups, the first three of which we were missing our top two running backs, BYU averaged 179 yards rushing per game at 5.1 yards per carry. Utah's rushing defense in its four-game losing streak is averaging yielding 175 yards per game at 4.7 yards per pop. If Utah had performed like that over the course of the season, they'd rank around #102 in the country in rush defense.
Our O-Line needs to come out hungry similar to the last time we played Utah in 2021. I think there's every reason to believe they're capable of a similar, if not better performance.
