The University of Utah is not a tribe of indigenous people that I respect or would respect otherwise merely on the basis that the U pays the Utes to be affiliated with the tribe's name. Based upon recent reports made by the SL Trib, the University should be paying a lot more and doing a lot more for the tribe anyway based upon how callously that institution has taken on the Ute name in the first place over the course of the past century to essentially now make a fortune on licensed merchandising. Based on that reporting, the tribe currently gets little to no money from any U of U merchandising at all.

To make that separation/distinction, I use the word "yewt" to describe an institution and program I have no respect for out of complete respect for the Ute tribe.

In other words, this is being completely misinterpreted.
