According to DFEI, Utah's D is better even than SMU's (16 vs. 22 in the nation).
I will say though, I think BYU's offense is better in multiple ways compared to the SMU game:
- Jake has matured and grown as a QB
- The offensive line has developed good chemistry, particularly in the run game
- We have LJ Martin back

I need the O-line to protect Retzlev. You know they are gunning for Jake.

He can make them pay for over-pursuing with his legs. Rewatching the 2021 game,

Hall was elite at not turning the ball over (sometimes I thought he was a little too risk-averse). Retzlaff has improved

Where are the idiots on the board who think Utah’s D won’t be the best we’ve faced this season? Crickets.

They are not. Paper tigers. They haven't played good offenses and they are not

Honestly, Houston putting up 17 points should be sending off warning signals

Perhaps. I am worried though with Utah having a bye week, they come out next

Utah's defense is hiding behind stats from poor opposition. They will get smoked

The only way Utah protects the ball is if they hand it off the entire game.

Only issue here is that ASU has only played 4 conference games, so their total
