lot was riding on Cam Rising having a good year. Rising had taken the Utes to two PAC 12 championships. Utah always felt they had a chance with Rising so why wouldn't anyone think Utah wouldn't have a great year under Rising's leadership. Any smart fan can see it all started unraveling because of QB injuries. Spoiled Ute fans who 1 year ago were complaining about joining the lowly BIG 12 and were just biding their time until a BIG 10 invite came their way were also delusional. If KWitt had a critical miscalculation, it was that he didn't bring in an experienced QB as a backup. I also think that he always felt his defense was so good that he could have a good season as long as he at least had a serviceable QB that could manage the game like they had last year. Defense wins games, right?
