But winning that game would have given us an undefeated season and a top 10 ranking, possibly as high as 7- we led 37-31 late in the game but gave up a dumb 62 yard PR for a TD.

Then we drove the field to set up a chip shot game winning 27 yard FG attempt - and missed it.

Given that the 79 season includes what many consider to be THE inaugural Big Win of the Lavell era (beating #14 Texas A&M), and Marc Wilson being a consensus All American then a first round pick, 79 would be remembered with 84 and 96 as a defining season.
