Meaning that BYU sports can't become only about money.

It's all about the INDIVIDUAL vs the CULTURE. If your culture is only money-driven you're in trouble because you go after people even if they're the wrong fit. But can you pay someone if they are the right fit? Absolutely!

There's a big difference between having money be everything in every situation vs BYU and the fit be everything and money be a factor.
