One of the best things BYU could do to neuter UCF run game is to come out hot on offense and score on our early drives
As I've been looking at UCF's film and box scores this week, they want to run the ball 50+ times a game and pass around 20 times. They want to run the ball 70%+ of the time. The one game where that trend didn't hold true was their game against Colorado. CU came out of the gate fast and didn't punt until the 3rd quarter (although they did turn it over on downs at one point in the second quarter).

At half time, CU was up 24-14, and then pushed it to 34-14 early in the 3rd quarter. This is the only game UCF had to abandon their run first approach and start throwing the ball. It's the only game UCF has played where the number of run and pass plays were close to even.

If UCF has to throw the football, Jacurri Brown is even less of a passing threat than KJ Jefferson. BYU doesn't need to completely dominate on defense. All they need is a couple of stops in the first half, and the offense to play well.
