BYU has always had really strong tight ends, and they have been especially highlighted because we have had very little
talent at wide receiver…at least a lack of speed and depth. Almost no offense is going to throw to the tight ends a lot if wide receivers are open. it just is what it is, tight ends on any really talented offensive team are always a secondary option. if BYU is getting better skill players, this will continue to be reality. if BYU develops an extremely skilled NFL caliber tight and that’s able to get open a lot, that guy is going to get a lot of catches. we are kidding ourselves if we don’t be honest about why BYU used the right end so much in the past.
