Atleast during Indy we got to play a lot more good games. . . MWC we had 3-4 meaningful games a season. . . Even during BYU's 2006 - 2009 run, I basically tuned out 4-5 conference games a year because they didn't matter.

Now in the Big12, it's much better than the MWC days.


P.S. - People complain about BYU's bowl games during Indy. . . But in general we got the bowl we deserved. Plus the MWC wasn't going to offer us anything better.

2020 - BYU deserved a better bowl game, but the MWC was shutdown. . . glad we didn't stay there.
2021 - BYU deserved a better bowl game, but the best option the MWC would offer is the LA Bowl against Oregon State. . . as BYU was definitely not going to rank higher than Cinci at get the G5 bowl. So you basically replace BYU's schedule against 7 P5 opponents with a MWC schedule and maybe 2 P5 opponents.


Every other year, BYU got the bowl game they deserved. . .
