when the sensors were ready for a smog test, this one shows the sensor status in real time so I could drive around until the necessary sensors were ready and not waste my time at the test place and have them say the sensors weren't ready...come back later.

I don't think there are good and bad ones per se, probably mostly ease of use and durability.
