This Ludwig situation reminds me of how Anae's first go around at BYU ended
Anae 1.0 was a thing of beauty and the production spoke for itself. Beck & Hall put up massive numbers, and BYU won a ton of games. But in 2010 Anae was handed a terrible QB situation. Ultimately Heaps became the full time starter after Riley got injured and the offense struggled for several weeks. But by the end of the season Heaps actually settled into Anae's system and the Offense average 42 PPG over the last 5 games of the season. Unfortunately the griping from earlier in the season had already set the plans in motion and Anae "resigned" at the end of the season. That move set back BYU"s Offense years.

And it seems like Ludwig is getting the same treatment Anae got. Utah Offenses struggled for years under KWhitt, but Ludwig has managed to find an identity that fits their personnel. He deserves better after all the years of successful offenses he has managed to produce despite the tight leash KWhitt puts on him. I think they will regret allowing Ludwig to step away, if that is truly what is going on here. Years of success warrants patience and an opportunity to make corrections, especially when you're stuck with a Freshman QB who clearly is not ready to play.
