I’m sick and tired of hearing that one of the reasons that Byu is doing so well
Is because they have somehow been more fortunate than other teams in avoiding injuries.

I really like Hans Olsen, but in “The morning after” Podcast he brought up how fortunate it is to Byu has largely avoided injuries (although he acknowledged the injury to Connor Pay). Maybe I’m reading into it, but there also seemed to be an implication that Utah has been Snake bit by injuries and this has played a role in their negative season. Maybe I’m overly sensitive because I have friends who have said this.

Whenever I brought up injuries last year, people would just say "they are part of the game"

This year, it is amazing how Byu has worked through their injuries.

Our best offensive lineman probably Connor pa and he has a broken foot and is out for at least six weeks.

Our starting right guard remains out (Makasini) and has been out for three weeks)- we currently only have three of our original, starting five offensive lineman.

Our starting middle linebacker (Taggart) missed a few weeks because of injury

One of our starting cornerbacks was out three weeks because of injury (Johnson) but is thankfully back now.

One of our starting wide receivers is still out (Epps) and has been out for five weeks.

For the last four weeks we've been largely on our fourth and fifth string running backs (thankfully we finally got LJ Martin back and Hinckley Ropati--our number one and number two running backs – – I believe they missed 4 and 3 weeks, respectively).

The list goes on.

Injuries are only brought up as an excuse when teams aren't winning. I was told last year that this means we need better depth. Apparently we've got that now and Utah doesn't.
