It was inevitable for the Utes to get exposed
In the P12 era:
They struggled to be OOC P5. They even struggled against some non-P5.
They struggled to win bowl games
They typically had multiple conference losses
The success of their seasons have been dependent on one player
The P12 was a pretty weak conference. I mean, look at what BYU did to them with lower recruiting and weakness in key coaching areas.
Getting exposed was inevitable, but it took a lot because the sports media has a love affair with them that made them look amazing along with their two conference championships.
They were never as good as everyone gave them credit for.
