to play - and with two weeks to prepare, I expect the Cowboys will be throwing in some new wrinkles. What's different about this BYU team from other years? They have a championship demeanor. They are not happy with just six wins. They are not happy with being a tad better than average (i.e. six wins to get into a bowl game). Their sights are much higher - and they are playing like it.
I have not seen a BYU make major in-game adjustments like this one. I have not seen a defense that puts the "not break" in "bend but not break" like this one. The defense has at times carried the team. All the while, the offense has been given time to grow into itself and is gradually becoming a force. I'm expecting an even better run game output tonight than last week v. Arizona. And (dare I say it) we will distribute the ball more to the TEs.
What about special teams? Have we seen a collective special teams performance over six games anything close to this? Every facet of the game is getting better and better each week. That's the mark of a team with championship on its mind. I would LOVE to see a Big-12 Championship. I think that objective is very realistic. From there - who knows? What I do know is that BYU is not done - and I can hardly wait to see where it lands.
Here we come tonight LES, wet or dry, cold or windy cold - we don't care. We'll be there and the place WILL BE ROCKIN'. History is calling.
