There are a few principles that guide my rooting interest in conference:
These are in priority order from most to least important.
1. Never root for Utah.
2. If we are tracking to the CCG, root for the best opponent possible so that even a loss likely results in a playoff berth.
— Example: will root for Iowa State to beat Texas Tech
3. We don’t play 40% of our possible conference opponents (play 9 of 15). Root for those we play to win their other conference games.
— Example: rooted for Kansas State to beat Colorado
