Belboz Intervention Needed
In my personal experience during the past few weeks, Utah fans have lightened up
I live in Salt Lake County. When I wear something in public around here with a BYU logo on it, I expect to hear insults from Utah fans. That's my expectation because that's how it's been for years. I imagine some of the total strangers who decide to comment negatively on what I wear don't mean any harm. Unfortunately, the cumulative effect wears on me. I grew up here and it wasn't always as bad as it's been in the last 15 years or so. I'm unsure that it's just a Utah fan thing. It's likely that people in general have gotten nastier with each other over that time.

Anyway, I decided to wear both a bright royal BYU hate and a bright royal BYU shirt when I went to pick up my granddaughter from school today. In the past, I considered that asking for trouble.

Today, I walked through a crowd around the school and didn't hear a negative word. I even spoke with an employee of the school for a minute who I heard tell a BYU-shirt-wearing-parent a couple of months ago to "Get out of here with that shirt." She said nothing about what I was wearing.

In fact, the last 3 times I've worn BYU stuff in public around here, I haven't heard a single negative thing.
I don't think I've had such a streak since before Utah joined the PAC 12.
