You have the transfer portal where you’re going to lose some good players for money.

If your team is super good, the best players will have NFL prospects.

And you have coaches transferring for money when they find success at BYU.

So I think saying we are a “powerhouse” is fools gold, always. But if we can get into the playoff one year it’ll be worth the next 5 years of wandering in the wilderness. Of course if we can be a powerhouse even better. But we have to enjoy special years.
