This seems like a conclusion looking for supporting facts that really arent
There. The OL has played well, but Jake has helped that with quick, decisive throws. The WRs have made some great plays, but also dropped passes they should have caught, which is typical of most teams. The run game is improving, but really isn't great.

How you can conclude that the other players are making Retzlaff look better than he is is pretty shallow.

He has made great decisions with the ball, especially the last few games. His turnovers are WAY down, mostly due to his decision-making. He's throwing the ball away when necessary, hitting his checkdown receivers when downfield plays aren't there. No fumbles or near fumbles in several games. No picks in several games, and very few balls that could have been picked. He's an effective runner. He has a strong arm and makes some throws that average QBs can't.

He is not perfect. He needs to develop a little more touch where appropriate so his passes are more catchable. He can go through stretches where is a little off target. But he is better than an average D1 QB, and much better in many ways.

Let go of the last 4 games of last year and recognize major growth in him as a QB for BYU.

In other words, your conclusion is wrong, IMO.
