best in state (including this year) when scoreboard says otherwise. Right now BYU is the best, but Utah won't roll over, and BYU could get surprised by another also. Right now Utah is not playing like a good team but they technically could win the big 12. Them winning the pac in 2022 was crazier imo (3 losses in conference is nuts as was the tiebreaker scenario where everything went right for them the final weekend). They could very much go on a run to the big 12 title, beat us, and decisively claim best in state title. It honestly feels only slightly crazier
