It balanced out the first half. After BYU's TD with 6:30 left in the 1st half,
BYU had more than +7 minutes in TOP. Arizona could have held the ball the rest of the quarter, and still been behind in TOP, which is what they did.
They clearly saw BYU tiring out the Arizona defense, and tried to reverse that trend.
