I'm in my 40's and am an official Grandpa.

But just remember, many "Grandpas" like me:

-cheered on the Cougs in the WAC, MWC, Independence and now Big 12. These youngins growing up with a P-4 team to cheer for was a dream for most of us.

-went to the church to tap into the church satellite system to watch games. That's right, the games weren't on local TV. So the only option was to head to the church, use the church's satellite and watch in the Primary room. Coug fans from around my area would come meet me at our building to watch.

- (I will deny participating in this), but before Dish had a spot beam to determine which channels you received, they based it off the zip code on your account. By giving a Utah zip code, you received the Utah channels, including BYU games. So many of us paid for our local cable and Dish to get Utah channels and BYU games.

- called DirecTV and Dish ENDLESSLY to put the MTN on their network so we could watch the Cougs.

So our deals with ESPN during Independence were HUGE to give us access. Now, we are basking in the ease of seeing our Cougs every week without too much effort.

So, remember, the board "Grandpas" have earned some respect over the years. Remember that when we complain about the Utah obsession to see them lose (we love it too) and if we think a sign or two is weird or not appropriate. We'll try to stay hip with y'all.
