As I age, I really like spending more time in the Lamar Valley than other, more popular areas.
I haven't done this, but I think it would be really fun to just do a short hike up to a high point and sit and glass for a few hours watching wildlife. Especially this time of year.

Are you sure roads haven't closed for winter yet? Even without snow they often close early/mid October...
