I saw a lot of post from him early on about progress they were making, but it has gone pretty dark lately. I always thought that Tesla focused on the "right things". Their walking control is pretty boring. They don't seem to have made many innovations on that front, and in earlier versions even looked like they had reverted to quasi-static walking (this demo yesterday looked more like dynamic walking).
But their hands and arms and manipulations seem to be where they are far above other humanoid robot companies.
