The ash is gone from residential neighborhoods. They are still working on ash from businesses. The video estimates a 59% completion rate.

Rebuild expected to last 10-20 years. While some homes are already under construction, the majority will still take another 2-3 years to get going.

In short, it's going to be a slow process.

That said, I'm hoping to attend the Maui Invitational when BYU is there. I'll stay in a hotel on Ka'anapali beach.
