There has to be some regulations that prevent this from happening. Otherwise kids will begin seeing the first month of the season as an audition, and if they play well they’ll just quit on their team and go collect NIL money at another school. I don’t blame the players as much as I blame the weak leadership in college sports. Kids are looking out for their best interest and making decisions that will most benefit them financially, so it’s hard to put 100% of the blame on them when there is clear incentive to do so.

This will mostly be a problem with those kids who are solid college players but not clear-cut NFL prospects. Because the NFL guys just want to get to the league as fast as possible, while the non-NFL guys need to milk NIL as long and hard as they can.
