I know Parker Kingston’s punt return obviously was amazing and turned out well. However, when he went to field the punt it he was running backwards near our own goal line. We had a sizable lead and momentum. I was thinking to myself “just let it go, don’t give them any momentum with a big mistake”. Even without a big lead I wouldn’t recommend attempting to field a punt while running backwards toward your endzone. He got an amazing, perfect bounce right up to him and he fielded it on a dead run which led to the score, but it could’ve bounced any which way. I hope they are using this as an example of something that turned out very well but probably was not a smart play. I also saw him do the same thing earlier this year which led to a muff that he recovered.
