decided to head there for lunch. Nobody knew the exact address so I decided to look it up. The internet wasn't nearly as robust then as it is now. So, I just took a guess and typed some iteration of inandout.com.
The page didn't load and almost immediately I was getting a call from the IT department that I shouldn't be looking up those kind of sites at work. (I believe his exact quote initially was "Save the porn for at home.") I explained what had happened and he laughed at me but told me it still flagged my laptop as having had a warning about looking up sites like that.
So, for a few weeks, everyone in my area thought they were comedians whenever we needed to look up something. About a month later, a senior manager came down from upstairs and wanted me to help him with a proposal for a sporting good company. We talked about what he wanted me to do. It involved getting some initial information off the potential client's website.
I realized we hadn't even talked about what company it was. So, when I asked, he said it was Head sports apparel. I asked him what the website was and his response was "I don't know. Why don't you just type in head.com and see what comes up?"
