What makes that even crazier is how good Miami was that year. You'd think maybe

it was a case of the national champions losing tons of talent and then having a down year. But no, that 1990 Miami team only lost two games, the other one being on the road against #6 Notre Dame. They go on to beat #3 Texas in the Cotton Bowl 46-3 and end the year as #3 in the AP poll.
