…because every week they surpass my expectations. I thought we had been exceptionally lazy recruiting offensive players in the offseason. Turns out we’ve got some dudes.

Mentally, I’m still prepared for a tough October and a let down against the Utes, but the difference now is that I think we can be competitive in every game we play this season.

That’s what I really want as a fan - competitiveness. I know that losing is a part of playing sports, but I just enjoy looking like I belong on the field.


It has been really fun having this team beat my expectations week after week. Here’s to hoping BYU keeps surpassing my somewhat tempered expectations for the rest of this year.
