1. We HAVE to clean up the drops. Cost us today for sure.
2. Where are the TEs?? One catch all day? You know those 3rd downs we’re having trouble converting at times? Isn’t that why tight ends were invented? High percentage throws to big targets and with soft hands that can get you a first when it’s just a little too far or risky for the run game to get it? I know ARod has a weak spot with the TE room but I thought he would fix it this year. We’re going to have TEs transfer if they’re going to be underutilized this badly.
3. Aside from the injuries, this might be the best outcome we could have had. Road win with plenty to work on. Offense had flashes of brilliance and struggles to work on. Defense had flashes of brilliance with things to work on. Special teams too. Now we have two weeks to heal up and get up for two big home games.
Im resigned that we’re the cardiac Cougs too often, but we found a way to win in spite of injuries, on the road, and against a pretty good team whose only losses (minus the insane Hail Mary) are to us and Utah. Not bad.
