primarily to put into perspective how good our 2nd team is. These ratings are just for 2024 and obviously yours and mine may be different and probably neither of ours will be correct. But it will speak to the depth of this team which is crazy.
1. Demin - Best player on the team who is probably the most versatile as well
2. Saunders - Complete Player with experience, was best player in conference play on BYU last year. Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't start.
3. Catchings - Is long, athletic and skilled. Will play 3 and 4 and maybe even some 2 and possibly 5 (with our depth doubtful, but he COULD do it).
4. Hall - Hall will be our starting PG and look for him to rack up assists, play great D and make a higher percentage of 3's as they will be more open.
5. Baker - I thought when he played last year he showed flashes of being the best player on the team. I think he will have a big year. This may be too low.
6. Keita - All indications are that he will be the starting center and his athleticism is off the charts.
7. Boskovic - Helps the team in so many ways with size, stretchiness (can step outside offensively) and skill for a big guy.
8. Knell - Knell is a great shooter who takes harder 3's than most and still was our 2nd best in conference and best for the year. Underrated defender.
9. Mag - May be the best wing defensive player we have had since....Abouo? Best BYU comparison I can think of for him. If he can shoot he will be a beast on both ends.
10. Fouss - Here come the people saying I hate Fouss. I don't. Two years ago he was our BEST player. Some nights he can take over a game.
11. Crawford - Very talented freshman that I just don't see a lot of minutes for
12. Kozlowski - See Above. Either of these two may surprise and bust through or play due to injury. They are both capable.
13. Stewart - Great athleticism with a questionable jumper. Could be used situationally.
Others: Triple, Triplett and McGregor....I would be very surprised to see any of them play meaningful minutes.
Now let's switch Keita and Baker to even out big guys and I tell you our starting lineup is Baker, Knell, Mag, Bosko and Fouss. That is a good lineup that I like a lot. The depth on this team is crazy. You can do your own list which again will likely look different than mine (2-10 can be mixed very differently). Take the 2nd unit, they look pretty good don't they? I can't wait!
