It’s like a quadruple whammy

First You don’t have all that square footage just sitting there doing nothing that you have to pay for.

Second, the Airbnb income would provide a little bit of side income/mortgage offset/something to do in retirement

Third, Your kids actually want to come visit you more because rather than going to stay at some boring house in the suburbs, visiting you would mean going to the lake. Something that would be nice to go to even if you didn’t live there.

Fourth, when they do come, you actually have more square footage to put everyone in and you won’t have to share bathrooms and stuff
