We visited Magnolia Farms before the last BYU-Baylor game in Waco, and it was a lot of fun to see so many other BYU families there—seemed like several thousand BYU fans, spread out across a kitschy but still charming attraction. The Old Church at Magnolia Farms was a particular favorite of mine, but it was also cool to see people playing Wiffle Ball at the small ball diamond (and my wife loved the window shopping).
For food (in Waco):
- Dubl-R (burger)
- Cupp's (diner)
- Union Hall (food court with a bunch of decent places to choose—good if your group all wants something different)
- Torchy's (tacos—I recommend the "trailer park" fried chicken taco)
- Maria Mezcaleria (Mexican)
- Helberg BBQ
If you're spending any amount of time in Dallas, let me know and I'll have some food recommendations for you. I used to work there and was literally paid to take people to lunch and dinner.
As far as attractions in Dallas go... There aren't many. The JFK stuff is fun if you're a history buff or like conspiracy theories (watch out for the pan-handlers around the grassy knoll; they'll try to hustle you for a few dollars by offering you a tour or handing you a map/info sheet and then asking you for money). The bookstore museum is fun, but can be crowded and gets expensive for larger groups.
If you're able to get out to Fort Worth to see the Stockyards, you'll probably enjoy that more than anything you could do in Dallas.
